Arrhythmias

Arrhythmias refer to irregular heart rhythm which means that the heart is not beating correctly.

Examples that need treatment are AF ( Atrial Fibrillation ), SVT ( Supraventricular Tachycardia ) and Ventricular Ectopics.

If you have a heart arrhythmia, symptoms may include:

  • a fast or slow heartbeat
  • dizziness
  • lightheadedness
  • chest pains
  • shortness of breath

-Treatment: Avoid strenuous exercise till diagnosis is made. May be life threatening.
Patient may need 24 heart rate monitoring  to determine the severity and guide treatment to prevent fainting or collapse., medications or EPS ( Electrophysiological Study)
AF may be treated with Watchman Device to reduce risk of stroke.
